Athletics are my passion from a grassroots level. As a father of a young girl, I know how important it is to create a great environment for sports from the bottom up. Years ago I started out as a young hockey player. I was fortunate enough to play hockey as the captain of a state championship team my Junior and Senior high school years for Loyola Acamdemy and later play hockey at the Division I level for Fairfield University. I was also the captain for Loyola Academy's State Championship Lacrosse team my Junior and Senior years. I received All State honors in both hockey and lacrosse.
After I graduated from Fairfield, I moved to New York City, and was the head hockey coach and senior coach for group lessons at Wollman Rink, the largest skating program in the country. For the past 20 years I have also been a Director of hockey at Camp Deehorn, a renknowned private, all boys summer camp in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. During my years at Camp Deerhorn I have taught various activities from horse back riding, waterskiiing, rifery, swimming, sailing, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, etc. My focus is on team sports, cameraderie, and an overall love for an active lifestyle.
For over 10 years I worked with the Saint David's School as their head coach for their beginner and Mite programs. I specialize in helping students gets started and find a love for the sport. Whether you prefer to just learn to skate or become competitive in hockey or skating, I am happy to help you get started.
